Tourism
The first-cycle degree in Tourism aims at a specialized training in the field of tourism, ensuring graduates a comprehensive and scientific knowledge of the tourist activity, and adequate skills for intervention in multiple interdisciplinary areas.
The skills acquired provide graduates a fast step to full professional activity, namely by building up a highly qualified profile able to deal with the current challenges this particular area of activity faces. The following skills are highlighted:
a) Analysis of tourism markets and consumers;
b) Tourism projects establishment and management:
c) Development of independent work;
d) The opening to cultural diversity.
The graduates in Tourism are able to work in:
a) Hotels;
b) Travel Agencies;
c) Airlines Companies;
d) Airports;
e) Municipalities (Tourism Department);
f) Tourism Sector of State Organisms;
g) Self-entrepreneurship projects;

To apply to the first cycle of studies, students must fulfil the following conditions:
- Have successfully completed a secondary course + entrance examination required (One among the following: Economics, Geography or Portuguese)
- Applicants over 23 years old (Decree-Law 64/2006, of 21 March)
- Change of institution, readmission and change of course.
Application schedule
Applicants who hold a secondary course + entrance examination
- 1st phase – 1st June to 27th July
- 2nd phase – 8th August to 14th September
Applicants aged over 23
- Application : till 28th April
- Interview: 14th and 15th May
- Written exam:17th May
Transfer, re-entry and change of course applicants
- 1st phase: 1st June to 13th July
- 2nd phase: (just for left over vacancies):3rd August to 3rd September
